What do you do on a rainy day? You go look at the real estate in town. Fair to say that it's a mixed bag in the outback. Construction methods include bottles and XXXX cans, corrugated iron and general scrap, and one enterprising chap who has been building a castle out of boulders for 30 years.Read more

If we thought Lightening Ridge was remote,... think again! Fun day fossicking and visiting the (in)famous Glengarry Hilton bush pub near Grawin, which is near,.. nowhere. Roads are a little muddy getting there.
Roads are made of Opal Mine tailings, so the roads are literally lined in Opal.Read more

Blue dots indicate flooding, so that's where we haven't gone. Airing out the camper in a brisk wind after 4 straight days of rain - things were a bit damp. Oh,..and the red dots are fires 🔥

Haven't out run the weather, but crossed the boarder into Victoria. Land is bone dry drought, so I guess they'll appreciate the rain we've brought with us. Stopped at the iconic Bonnie Doon from 'The Castle', chilling at Lake Eildon NP., hoping for some fish,..Alex! Fishing in the morning and reading a book.Read more

Travelled down from Victorian High Country via Yarra valley. Magnificent stands of Gum. A night in Sale, and now back beachside on the stunning Victorian coast at Cape Conran looking out to the Bass Strait. Victorian NP free of charge for campers, so making the most of these great campsites.Read more

Campfires and Marshmellows. Change of scene on the fishing front at Marlow inlet - unfortunately the Pelican was the only one having success so we went to a pub ( and damn good it was too, Sailors Grave Brewing, Marlow, VIC)Read more

Amazing location on southern most promontory of Australian mainland. Again, loving the Parks Victoria service - powered site, hot showers, awesome location near hiking, walking, beaches, fishing, all for $0.00. You can't beat that as a base to explore this part of Australia.

Slept in, so we missed the Penguin parade. Consoled ourselves with a wine tasting instead. 'Karen' our helpful navigation system once again sought to have the last word by routing us through the CBD of Melbourne,... hahaha, fun when your on the tram tracks!!! The absence of any other vehicles towing caravans leads us to believe that Karen is being a little bit stroppy with us after Alex called her a cow after she directed us to Parliament doorsteps in Canberra.Read more

Bruce and Little Bruce are having a well-earned rest in Geelong whilst we take a brief side trip to Hobart in an RV. Up early tomorrow to catch the Spirit of Tasmania through to Devenport.
Found a fabulous little wine bar in Geelong. Celebrates all vintages of the local terrior. Came away with an interesting Pinot Minuer.Read more

Another beautiful National Trust property. Craftsmanship is stunning. Built by convicts, interesting history - spec house built by ex-convict, boarding school for landed gentry sons, downtrodden property gifted to NT in the 1960's. A bygone era.Read more

Beautiful NT property with rather checkered history. 1838 convict construction, lots on indentured servants, a dubious founding owner, and a rather sad legacy of unloving ownership leading to being in a fairly dire state when lifted to the trust.Read more
