The Montana Trail 406

This Spring/Summer I’ll be trekking across Montana. I’ll be paddling a kayak on the Missouri River, riding biking trails, and hiking in the high country. The total length is 1,700 miles. I’ll blog some of the planning here too. Read more

Training Day 2 - pickup Jude from school

Jude said to me “Grandma, you know when we had the special all day yesterday when we did all the activities? When we get another one like that can we go on a long bike ride on a trail?” I said that sounded like a great idea and we should pack a picnic. Then we talked about our favorite foods to put in the picnic. It’s a date!Read more

TravelerI have to say, I had no idea grand-parenting was going to be this level of fun.

Planning
16 marzo 2024, Stati Uniti 🌙 48 °F
I can start mid May with the River sections. Then after I’ve done the eastern portion of the state to the Eastern Terminus, I can flip flop back to Ft. Benton and start heading west. The timing has to include low country miles at the start of the summer while waiting for high country snow melt on the trail. My spreadsheet will include details of when I resupply, recharge e-bike batteries, what towns I stay in and where and for how long I camp out. I invite anyone who wants to do all or part of this with me! I’ll have estimates of where I’ll be and when, but of course, subject to be adjusted due to many variables.
