Church of San Giorgio Maggiore

Then after getting what became an incredibly useful pass for public transport, including the water buses, which we used for the whole remainder of the trip, we went over to San Giorgio Maggiore Church which is built on an island across from the basilica. That was a lovely visit as there was a huge sprawling exhibition of sculpture and other art. We also went to the top of the bell tower which just happened to be on the half hour so we had the bell make us jump out of our skin.Read more
