Tenaya & May Lake

We drove towards Tenaya Lake and found a nice area on the foreshore to relax and have lunch. There were a few people canoeing in the lake and a couple were even swimming. The lake water was quite cold and due to the elevation it wasn’t super hot.

After lunch we headed towards May Lake. As we turned off the main road we went a couple of kilometres up a bitumen road with potholes everywhere! We made it to the carpark and it said the lake was about 2km away. The lake was all uphill on a fairly exposed track. My legs were aching a bit from the 20km walk already but we made it to the top. The views of the lake with mountains surrounding it were beautiful and definitely worth the uphill walk to get there. We relaxed by the waters edge before heading back down the trail.

It was a 90 minute drive back to the accommodation which we took slowly while taking in the views. We pulled over at a lookout which had views looking towards half dome.

We arrived back at the accommodation at 6:30pm and were quite exhausted from the long day. We relaxed and ate salad for dinner before heading to sleep.Okumaya devam et
