    Yummy lunch. And pretty doggies to pet. We made a new rule. No dying on my trip! And we must do a Christina phone check each time we stop. Mosquitoes liked my ankles too much.

    Scavenger hunt

    What's a triangle anyway?
    Is a fake elephant the same as roadkill?
    Are ducks shaggy?
    Random chanting of pick your nose.
    Oooo..i got an oversized nose. NOOOOOO!
    OMG it's a jeep, i don't care if you're picking your nose.
    Dang, they don't like their roads flat.
    Look Kelly, it's a jeep.
    No mini golf is not a sport.
    Looking for pickers, bobbers, and bumper stickers. And peanuts and popcorn, cuz those always go with everything.

    Sunday update... steam rollers everywhere today. But still no bobbers, pickers, or fishers.

    We did finally find most of the remaining items. But those chickens were illusive. Until this morning when wet noticed this little guy in the dining room.    Leia mais

    Lessons learned
    What does a jeep look like
    People do order blueberries on the side with their pancakes
    An isosolese triangle has 2 sides the same?
    No one sleeps, picks their nose. Dances in their car, or hangs their clothes up to dry.

    Observations made
    Fireflies driving into camp were beautiful
    Deer were everywhere
    Storms are coming
    We lost an hour on the drive

    The girls were really great today. They got along well, had a lot of fun, helped when needed.

    Looking forward to arriving at ore destination tomorrow.

    Kelly earned herself a camp name...isosceles... thanks to stumpy.

    We stopped at a service plaza. It had restaurants, gas, and gift shops. We tried eating outside but it started raining. Now we are back on the road. Getting close to the mountains. Starting to look pretty.

    As we got on the road and it it's wet.. the girls asked if it was raining. Well, the mad dash inside 30 minutes ago might mean yeah... It rained.    Leia mais

    Smithsonian natural history

    Originally we were going to start at the holocaust museum but we were paint the museum of natural history as it opened. We spilt into three groups. I had the Truddy group of Olivia LaShaya and Janelle.

    We looked at a lot of geological exhibits. Then the insects and mummies.

    We touched a piece of Mars. It was awesome. We saw three hope diamond and they held a grasshopper. We also saw a giant rhino beetle up closer.    Leia mais

    Capitol building

    This was a really interesting tour. We learned that it took the artist 11 months to paint the dome. But the fresco took 75 years. The original artistr painted about 1/2 The fresco and he was overt 80 when he passed out and fell from the scaffolding. He caught the scaffolding and was rescued but never went up again. So he gave his sketches and plans to another artist and the second artist painted until he ran out of sketches and they realized that the original artist thought it was 33 ft shorter. Congress spent 50 years debating what should be added to the final painting. Our government at work. 😀Leia mais

    Ford theater

    Lincoln. We rushed of to the Ford theater when Lincoln was shot. In the rain.
    Part of the exhibit had a montage of former Presidents reading the Gettysburg address.

    First course

    China town

    Ok so it was a bit of an adventure to find China town, but we were determined.
    We ate at Tony chengs. Family style.
    First course spring rolls, fried wonton skins and egg drop soup.
    Second course fried rice, green bean, kung pow chicken, Sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, shrimp and snow peas and veggie low mein.
    Dessert was oranges and fortune cookies... apparently many of the girls are going to have happy relationships. So we'll be watching them like hawks at the beach tomorrow.    Leia mais
