A hilly ride through Kent

Left our hosts and set out heading west. Riding mainly on small country, and hills roads. Ride through a park/golf course full of deer. Nice castle at the end. Camp in a large field.
Through Surrey hills

Short day mileage wise but long with lots of single track paths. Stay dry after morning showers. Stay in a lovely hostel!
Quiet roads and rain

Left the hostel in brilliant blue sky. Lovely ride to Farnham and explored the Keep. Skies cloud and then open up. Still nice riding through countryside. Campground near old coal engine train.
Into Hampshire

Stonehenge

Very rainy rest day

Tired legs and lots of rain calls for a rest day. Do very little. Kind of nice.
Avebury

Earlyish start to catch as much sunshine as we can. Return to the military zone, and have a very muddy ride. Luckily no active shooting practice. Miss a turn but finally make it out. Nice ride to Czytaj więcej
Avon Canal

Morning climb yields lovely valley views. Zip down to Avon Canal and ride along an amazing series of locks that enable canal boats to go downhill. Beautiful but gravely path. Decide to stay in a Czytaj więcej
Wales….almost

Though forecasts indicating a named storm approaching, ride towards Wales. Nice cycle paths and relatively mild conditions prompt us to go onward. Sadly, chosen campground was not a viable option. Czytaj więcej
Up and over the hills

Ride a bit down our lovely canal path and then veer off into a peaceful park. Route heads upward as we expected though we hadn’t anticipated the single track up and then down. Beautiful view. More Czytaj więcej
Wales

Bright sunny morning becomes windy as cross very long bridge into Wales. Visit lovely castles and treated to blue sky. Nice roads take us to Newport and a beautiful path along a canal with older locks Czytaj więcej
Back to the coast

Left site in the rain. Kind of a misty rain. Lovely path through a forest. After long stretch along big road hit Swansea. Make our way to another amazing warm showers host. Sleep indoors!
Amazing tides

Ride along coast for a bit. See swimmers and surfers in frigid sea. Learn later they are called blue tits (older lady swimmers). Nice pastries and then turn inland. Make our way to Burry point and Czytaj więcej

Beautiful blue sky to start the morning. Ride along the beach and again marvel at the low tide. Sadly no ferry running so long way around. Visit Kidwelly castle (more photos to follow). Day clouds Czytaj więcej
Coastal route

An advantage of camping in a farm is that they have milk machines! Very hilly day but incredibly scenic. Lunch alongside castle. Somewhat similar to the Oregon coast, especially with the weather. Nice Czytaj więcej

The end of Wales

A beach day in Ireland

Short ferry and lousy sleep. Arrive In Ireland just as sun is rising. Make coffee and watch ferries come and go. Ride/walk along a short cliff path and then find a beach. Amazingly sunny day - mostly Czytaj więcej
Castles to Chateaus

Spent most of the day sailing. Arrived to sunnyish skies and set off for a short ride to campground. Came upon an unexpected chateau and garden.

Easy riding along the velomaritme although we have moved inland for now. Nice secluded paths. Dry day but ends in lots of rain and thunderstorm. At least it’s a warm rain

Sunday ride along the railroad
