Venice - Day 1 - Lido Island

We met up with our tour group there's approximately 24 of us. We had proscetto and Ian got handed a glass and almost took it which was funny made a laugh for everyone. We sat and visited and had a couple sit with us named Anita and Lisa from Colorado. We visited them with them the whole night It was very fun. It's taking some getting used to of how long it takes to eat dinner. We were at dinner last night from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. We had several courses. The first course was a tomato and basil type of pasta that I had never had before. We had two bottles of local wine red and white. We also had a second course of meat strips with potatoes and a lemon that you could spray over the meat which was very good. And then we had a dessert that was Marcipone and had a hint of lemon and we all thought it was very incredibly good but also tasted like Lucky Charms marshmallows. We took a walk after dinner and saw the sunset and walked along the boardwalk. We were able to see the a big ferry with lots of cars getting on and trucks. We saw two fishermen with huge poles putting their lines in. And then we stopped at a very small cafe on the corner and had espresso and the kids had ice cream. We walked back and saw an ancient Jewish cemetery which was very beautiful and very very old. We came back to the hotel and sat on the balcony at the top of the hotel for a while took some pictures of the kids. Then we got ready for our day tomorrow in Venice touring and we are very excited!Läs mer
