    Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) in Sri Lanka is a sacred, conical mountain known for a revered footprint rock at its summit, drawing pilgrims from various faiths (Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian) for its spiritual significance and stunning sunrise views, especially during the pilgrimage season (December to May) when thousands climb thousands of steps at night for the magical sunrise and the "shadow triangle" phenomenon, though it can get crowded and the trail can be challenging. 

    The Climb

    Popular Trail: Starts in Dalhousie (Nallathanniya), involving around 5,000-6,000 steps.

    Night Ascent: Most people start around 2-3 AM to reach the summit by dawn.

    Key Features & Significance

    Sacred Footprint (Sri Pada): A large rock formation at the top, believed by Buddhists to be Buddha's, Hindus to be Shiva's, and Muslims/Christians to be Adam's.
