Race day!!

We were up before 6am and in the van by 6:50. Brian dropped us off at the Boardwalk Inlet parking lot for the Ocean City Run Fest. It was quite the party atmosphere! Live music, a DJ and, due to its proximity to Halloween, lots of people dressed in costumes. My favorite was the people who ran the 8k in a caterpillar costume. Although Bob Ross and his "painting" was a close second. The event included a full marathon, half marathon, 8k and 5k. Zach did the half marathon so he had to board a shuttle bus which took him and 900 of his closest friends to Assateague state park. They then ran from there to the boardwalk to finish. The 5k was on the boardwalk for most of the time. It was by far my favorite 5k run to date.
Zach finished 6th in his age group and 48th overall out of 942 participants.
I finished 5th in my age group and 39th out of the 317 women participants.Read more
