    St Ives to Gunard’s Head

    June 19, 2023 in England ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

The St Ives Bay Hotel in St Ives was comfortable but with a typically small room. Good breakfast, though.

All up, we did 14.5 km today, to Gurnard’s Head via Zennor. The walk was harder than anticipated, with lots of up and down, over boulders and twists and turns. However, beautiful views and lots of pretty wildflowers.

We detoured a bit to visit Zennor and drop into the Tinner’s Arms, possibly Cornwall’s oldest pub, for a drink (lemonade for me and local beer for Claire). Whilst there we visited the Church of St Senara, which dates back to the 1100s.

The Gurnard’s Head Hotel is a gastro pub which really fancies itself! Overpriced and room cluttered with trendy bits and pieces that take up space.
