We were able to stay in our house in Plymouth until 1:00 pm, which suited us because we had to catch a bus into town in time to get on the National Express coach at 2:30 pm to Falmouth. The trip tookWeiterlesen
It took us 3 bus trips (with some waiting in the rain) to get to our destination: Buckland Abbey. This was an abbey for three hundred years, then became for some time the home of Sir Francis Drake.Weiterlesen

We have finished our first walking ‘event’ so are now having four days in Plymouth, in a 2-bedroom house which has a fridge (non-existent in hotels and most B & Bs) and a washing machine.

The last leg of our first walk, which took us about 6 hours to do 20 km. Very level terrain so we were able to wear joggers instead of walking boots, which was a relief.

22 km in 5 hours, very different landscape from yesterday. The terrain was quite flat which allowed us to make good time.

Because of where our accommodation was, we decided to go off the Coast Path about two-thirds along the way which reduced our walk by nearly 6 miles. Not only did this make our walk easier, but it alsoWeiterlesen
23 km in 9 hours; quite challenging but spectacular scenery along the north Devon coast.
