    Falmouth to Portloe

    June 29, 2022 in England ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

What a day! 28 km and although the terrain wasn’t too up and down, we were pretty shattered by the end of the day. It was made longer by the fact that we had to walk 3 km from our hotel to the beginning of the walk.

The walk included two ferries ( total cost 27 pounds), one of which was no more than a dingy capable of carrying a max of 10 passengers.

We saw some beautiful coastal scenery and picturesque villages. The beaches are lovely, clean and many are protected small coves.

Our B & B (in Trewartha) is well-appointed (a fridge: wow!) but we had to be picked up by the owner from a hotel in Portloe and she dropped us back there for a pub meal and had a friend pick us up and bring us back (about 3km we did not want to walk). Although the meal was OK, we resent paying £7.20 for a glass of wine, and anyway, our picnics are pretty good!
