    How is it October?!

    October 1, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

It's actually crazy to think we left home 7 and half months ago and have been working on the farm for two months now. Time has just whizzed by since we started working here and we only have a month and a half left until it's time to hit to road once again, I'm quite sure we're ready or prepared for that just yet. Bruce has given us our leaving date so it suddenly has become quite real. The biggest thing we need to sort out is a van but I can't even begin to explain how tedious it is looking everyday through pages of Facebook adverts, backpacker website advertisement boards and Trade Me. It becomes so consuming that when you do find something that seems okay you almost don't believe it's real and can't bring yourself to go through the whole process of seeing if the people will be willing to come here to usually be disappointed. We do really need to knuckle down and find something now or we'll end up having to get to Christchurch and just staying there until something good shows up. This week Cassidy had a trip to the museum on Tuesday with preschool which I took her and Eliza to. Sadly only 4 children came but she seemed to enjoy running around. Nothing educational was learnt but she had a good morning at least. She did tell me that tigers eat potatoes and only potatoes so she somehow took that from the experience. After the museum I took the girls to the playground where we had a picnic lunch on the grass before playing on all the equipment. Both girls fell asleep in the car on the way home which always feels like such an achievement. Nothing else exciting really happened this week apart from going food shopping on my days off which is as exciting as most days off get. I did see a pretty rainbow though!Read more
