    We had a nature hike this morning with a guide who showed not only the old farming practices still being used as well as informed us herbs grown and their medicinal properties. We then had tea as well as lunch at his home which was welcoming.

    On the road to Marrakesh..

    Left our kasbah early this morning and drove through the valley of kasbahs and visited Kasbah Amridil, one of the oldest and best restored kasbah of its kind.

    We then moved onto Ait Benhaddou which has been used as sets for many movies such Lawrence of Arabia, Game of thrones and Gladiator.

    Saw an amazing sight of a stork and its nest.
    Stopped at a vista at the foot of the Atlas Mountains 2260m above sea level.
    Finally arrived at the mad house which is Marrakech! What a buzzing city it is. We had dinner in the market square. Looking forward to exploring more tomorrow.    Read more

    Today we had a walking tour of the old city within the Medina and visited the Bahia Palace afterwards walking through the souks and the spice market.
    The main square which is an entertainment mecca at night during the day has monkey's and live cobras....

    Farewell Marrakech onto Essaouira

    Left Marrakech this morning on the road stopped to look at the argan trees and with some luck goats.
    The goats climb the treees to eat the leaves, not the nuts, its a bit of a show.
    We didn't find any on trees but oddly 😀 out of the blue 2 locals found the bus and produced a 5wk old kid. After a few had a hold...money please !!! Well spotted. 😉
    We did however stop at a womens cooperative and saw them working on producing the argan oil.
    Arrived in Essaouira, the windy city they call it. Beautiful spot and amazing sunset!    Read more

    Istanbul....

    Finally made it...
    Long day yesterday. Left our hotel in Casablanca after catching up with our favourite Casablanca
    girls the night before. 🩷
    Today we were up and about doing the touristy stuff.
    Our hotel is conveniently about 10-15 walk from Sultanahmet square, so we 1st called into the Basilica Cistern which was excellent then spent a few hrs at Topkapi Palace. Picked up some roasted chestnuts and strolled the streets.    Read more

    Out and about in Istanbul

    We explored some more of the city today, with a cruise down the Bosphorus River, where we saw many, many mosques poking their minarets through the cowering neighbourhoods. We also spotted the 8th most expensive yacht in the world, $320 million worth, called the Radiant. Complete with a helicopter on its landing pad. Must be hard.
    Walked through the Spice market and then we took a tour of the famous Blue Mosque . I'm done with Mosques now, thank you.
    Ended up with another fantastic meal with falafels, chicken skewers, and baklava.    Read more
