Day six Howgills to Burneside

Penultimate day today 23 km, no sun but no rain so life is good. It started walking along the Lune river and under the lowgill viaduct. It was the up and over the M6.
I walked for some 20 min with the sounds of motorway noise. So relaxing. It was nice to see the trains going past though.
From here in it was walking across farm fields which I didn’t really enjoy. Passed a couple of manor houses which were impressive.. Penguins had disappeared because I think he went off down the swollen rivers with the ducks but today he was back as I was not near a river and it wasn’t raining. He did stop to talk to the baby chickens though. One bad blister slowed me down a little. It compeed and paracetamol seemed to do the job.Read more
