Brenda's GBR experience

Well, overall it was an experience I will never forget. I got to see beautiful fish 🐠. We had lots of time to explore. However, the area we could explore felt a bit limited with all the peopleOkumaya devam et
Start of super flight day

Three different planes today.
Today I learned that the rfid blocking sleeve will set off the airport metal detector.
Good to know.
First to arrive at airport

Got an Uber to airport. Not open yet. Maybe they open at 3:00 am.
David's Cairns Review - Top and Bottom 6

Here goes my review of Cairns.
The Top 6
1. Snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef

Brenda's top 6 for Cairns

With Cairns behind us, it’s time to ponder what my top 6 highlights and disappointments were for that leg of our trip. I will start with the Highs this time.

Christmas in Sydney

Flight wasn't too bad. Brenda's seat rest was messed up, but the flight wasn't full so we moved over and got some pictures.
We also watched movies.
We bought a zoo for Brenda and Lego Batman forOkumaya devam et
In New Zealand airport-Auckland

Immigration line.
With the lines and the need to get / recheck our bags, we managed to walk onto the plane about 8 minutes before it took off. Barely had enough time for a bathroom break, and we hadOkumaya devam et
Queenstown Airport

Amazing views coming in. Great views of their Alps. Snow on them still. Very stunning and very dramatic, steep mountains.
The sign at the airport was interesting. This is an outdoor enthusiast MeccaOkumaya devam et
Bella Vista Hotel

Our hotel has some pretty amazing views too. It appears to be in a good location near a lot of shops and very close to the ski lift to take for a nice view at the top of the hill near us.

Got in to Queenstown a little after 7:00 but had to wait for luggage. Got picked up by Supershuttle. Our place is small but nice with another nice view out our window. We have coupon for this pizzaOkumaya devam et
Queenstown Exploring

Checking out the town this morning
Today we were tourists :-)
We did a lot of searching for gifts and just generally getting a feel for the town.
Personally, I'm loving it here! It's a lot likeOkumaya devam et
Pita Pit in NZ??? Mmmmm.

The pita pit was a pretty surprising find. We have one in Corvallis and this happened to be a great taste of home.
The chips were quite good as well. We thought we were getting some sun chip type,Okumaya devam et
Movie night

We saw Thor before America!!
I got my drink on and Brenda and I shared some corn. Both were delicious.
Here is our non-spoiler review.
Another tour adventure begins!

This time Milford Sound.
This was quite the adventure. We took a very long and windy bus ride to Milford Sound, where we boarded a boat to tour the sound, then we boarded a plane to take us back toOkumaya devam et
On the bus

Riding through farmlands. So many sheep, not sure how we managed to not get any photos of them, especially all the lambs frolicking.
Te Anau bus stop

This was about 2 hrs in on ride to Milford Sound. Biggest lake in South Island.
Valley Stop

The stark contrast between the valley floor and the rise of the mountains is incredible. They just seem to go straight up and continue on so high.
The divide

This point also marks the 45 latitude letting us know we're in about the same zone as Keizer only in the Southern Hemisphere.
Beber made a new friend :-)
Milford Sound

Heart of the Sound

Where the Sound meets the Sea

We got to see one of their adorable penguins as we headed out of the sound to the sea.
Furthest point out the open sea

Water was a bit rougher out here, and it was the furthest out away from the dock that we reached on the trip.
Seal Rock / Sterling Falls

The seals here are quite small compared to the ones we are used to at home. They also are not nearly as noisy.
Cute though as you can tell.
