Well, after being delayed by tropical cyclone alfred by 2 days, we're finally on the road. All roads up the range were cut via flood waters except via Mount seaview/ Walcha. A very treacherous trip with the rain but we made it, at 35km an hour it was a slog. We decided to try and drive out of the rain, which has followed us all the way, having our first night at Coonabarabran. We're heading to Broken Hill today to try and catchup with our itinerary bookings 😊Baca selengkapnya

Spending the night at Broken Hill on our way to WA. The outback is so vast and much the same as last time except more wild goats then before, apparently they've been breeding well. A very warm 37 deg here this afternoon. Finished off the day with a meal and a cold one at the Outback Resort pub after a long drive. Ceduna tomorrow.Baca selengkapnya

Farewell Ceduna

Our last night at Ceduna on Friday was lovely, meeting new people and a beautiful full moon. Ceduna foreshore is an interesting place, most people stay here 6-8 weeks every February, March and April fishing for King George Whiting and crabbing for blue swimmers, its huge, people make the pilgrimage from everywhere. Perth but mainly ironically most of the people were from Coffs, Port macquarie or Brisbane. Alot after travelling 18 years running have made many friendships, we were fortunate enough to be camped next to a couple who seemed to have the social hub and happy hour at their camp and joined them on our last night, had a great time 😁Baca selengkapnya

Early start across the Nullarbor

Left early Saturday morning to start the Nullarbor, the moon was still up at 6.30am as the day was predicted to be 45deg and best for the rig to travel the distance in as much cooler temp as possible, was 32deg already. Crossing the Nullarbor

Day 1, Part 1 crossing the Nullarbor- headed through Penong, 1st stop was The Head of the Bight, beautiful views to Bunda Cliffs, we were fortunate to actually do the walk as it was 39deg, much to Garrys disgust 🤣heading to 46deg quickly and they were going to close the walk due to the heat 🥵 🔥 strong howling hot dusty winds but worth the effort. Day 1 part 2 Crossing the Nullabor

On through the SA WA border quarantine and many towns to Eucla and the Old telegraph station, where the sand dunes shift with the winds often swallowing the structure, unfortunately alot of it graffiti now. John Eyre walked across this harsh unforgiving place in 1841, and we find it long with a comfortable car and caravan, the pioneers were amazing. The Nullabor Nymph, legend says in @ 1971 rabbit trappers and multiple hunters spotted a topless woman living with the roos multiple times, who used to run off into the bush when sighted, newspaper clippings etc even American media was onto it.Baca selengkapnya

Mundrabilla Roadhouse and day 2

Stayed at Mundrabilla Roadhouse halfway for the night, not as much to see the 2nd half, Mundrabilla was where the meteorite hit and Balladonia where pieces of the exploded space shuttle were found. Lots of road trains, some huge, where you have to pull right off the road to left them through. CBs so essential, truckies so great to communicate with to navigate through. Finally have a little service to post, have arrived at the end of the Nullarbor at Norseman for the night. Heading off to wave rock tomorrow 😀Baca selengkapnya

Wave Rock in Hyden, amazing 👏 15 metres high, 110 metres wide. They have cleverly put a stone barrier around the top to work as a funnel effect to channel the rain water into a dam on top the rock to provide the township of Hyden with all of its water.Baca selengkapnya

Lake Magic and Salt Pool

Early morning visit to Lake Magic and salt baths. Water is clear but salty, the lake base is made of gypsum. The salt baths have therapeutic minerals and saltier than the dead sea, more buoyant. Heading to Busselton for a couple of days.Baca selengkapnya

Exploring Busselton Jetty

Exploring Busselton Jetty, the longest in the southern hemisphere, took the train out for the novelty and to listen to the history behind the jetty, amazing. The government wanted to demolish it in the 1970s after a major cyclone but the locals rallied around with extensive fund raisers to restore it and to this day, it is all local volunteer run with 30% of entry fees covering the maintenance cost for us to enjoy. 😄Baca selengkapnya

Valley of the Giants

Visited "Valley of the Giants" this morning in Walpole. I'm so proud of myself, not being a fan of heights, I did the treetop walk, 40 meters of suspended walkway above the forest @ 1 metre wide and 600 metres long with little suspended viewpoints along the way. The walkway bounces and sways, and no more than 10 people can be on a section at a time due to load limits eek! Felt like turning back at one point, but only one way, no room to pass. Lucky to go early whilst quiet and low wind. More pics to come.Baca selengkapnya

Valley of the Giants Ancient Empire Walk

Ground floor walk of forest in the "Valley of the Giants ". Huge Tingle trees, one being the "gatekeeper ", what they call the Grandma tingle tree, due to its size and face if you look hard enough you can see, 12mtrs in circumference and 38mtrs high, we walked well above that height.
