We stayed at the free camp on the Lagoon outside of town and it was packed!

The Barcoo River free Camp and chicken racing at the pub.
While we didn't buy a chook, it was fun to watch. Classic outback fun and humour.

Another great free camp. We stayed for 2 nights to take break, checked out dinosaur footprints, ran away from dinosaurs and made friends with a rat that visited our campsite.

Yeah... not much here. Mt Isa is a bit of a dump really...but it had a Coles, and we topped up on water and food.

This was just a quick stop to check the place out and to buy and ice cream. It was a really nice place and would have been a great stopover.

What can I say?
Dystopia...our first taste of a "very different way of life". It really felt like it was something out of Mad Max Thunderdome.
