Orientation Week!

I went into the campus today for a tour, one of the only parts of O week NOT curtailed by Covid restrictions. Did a tiny bit of exploring on my own, at least now I know my way around the three buildings I'll be spending most of my time in! Also learning to navigate the best public transport options available while the Gawler train line is still out.Okumaya devam et

Semester 1 commences!

Monday, 28th February 2022
This isn't the way I thought I'd be studying, but thanks to Covid 19, all lectures are online for the foreseeable future.
Instead of a lecture hall filled with students, it's just me watching a recorded video of the lecture. At least I'll be on campus for all of my tutorials, practicals and workshops, but Mondays and Tuesdays are home study days for now!Okumaya devam et

First day on campus

I'm glad I got the early bus this morning- the one I was on had mechanical issues, so I was a little delayed coming in. Because I'd set out early, I still got here on time to work out how to access the Uni WiFi.
I'm nervous enough, starting my student life, without being late to my first tutorial!
I've now done my first tutorial session (FiHMESS- Foundations in Human Movement, Exercise and Sport Science) have done a Zoom Q&A session for Physiology.Okumaya devam et

Public holiday or not, study has to happen. I'm doing the Nervous System in Physiology, and right now, learning about the brain.

First Assignment submitted!

Hopefully my assignment has submitted successfully! I'm still learning to navigate all the IT based procedures.
I had to slash my word count to avoid penalties, after being told there was no upper limit, the directive was issued that there was a cap! Lots of hours to edit, edit and then edit a bit more, and I'm still ahead of the deadline. Now I just have to hope my submission went through properly!Okumaya devam et

The day of the travelling tutorial

The power went out in the Centenery building this afternoon. When I arrived at my 7th floor 1-3pm Physiology tutorial, there was a mad dash to find a free room with power!
The first option (Playford building, 4th floor) was fine until the students turned up at 2pm for whatever subject they were studying, so we hung around outside until a new room was found, same building, one floor up. I'm over stairs today...Okumaya devam et

Owning my study.

It's been a difficult few weeks. I've been struggling getting back into a study groove.
I'm having difficulties keeping up with content and retaining information.
I've let myself get physically and emotionally run down.
So many times I've just wanted to give up and go back to my little life.

Today, I became more proactive, I've spoken to one of my course coordinators, made a study plan for the teaching break, asked for study tips and changed tutorial groups.

I'm owning my hopes.
I'm owning my path.
I'm owning everything that matters to me.

I'm putting my power back into my own hands. I want more than I currently have, and I am the only person who can get me to where I want to go.

The folder on the bottom is 6 weeks worth of Physiology lecture notes. I have a test tomorrow on the lecture content from the first six weeks' worth of lectures.
The folder on the top is the bits of the lectures that test questions will be based on, plus a bit extra, because I do like well organised, colour coded, highlighted notes with plenty of diagrams and tables.
