Cuesta del Viento

A lake famous for its strong winds. This is a very dry and dusty place and although we enjoyed the kitesurfing we did not like all the dust that was constantly blown in our face.
Chilecito

Mine region with a lot of history and a great setting in the mountains. We tried a supposedly good 4x4 route, but the road was washed away by all the rain
Canyons of la Olla and el Hualco

3 beautiful canyons to hike and swim
Fiambalá

In this area there are lot's of buildings made of mud.
Balcon del Pissis

Cañon del Indio & el Shincal

Another beautiful hike through a canyon and a pre-incan site.
Campo de Piedras Pomes & 4x4 route

One of the most special things we have seen, big white lavastreams (petrified) in a dessert. Horrible road leading there, so almost no-one there (we also almost got stuck 😂). Beautiful wildcamp atLes mer

Cafayate is all about wine and rocks. Great wineries and wine bars, all with high altitude wines (we love tannat and torrontés) and surrounding the town beautiful rocks for great hikes. We had 2Les mer
Salta and NP los Cardones

The road from Cafayate to Salta led us through national park Los Cardones (the big cacti). It was pretty but not very special. Salta was an OK city, considering we don't really like cities.
Tucuman

We did a little detour to Tucuman to meet with Maria Martha whom we know from Aruba. She brought Koens drivers licence. This was stolen in Chile in our first week and he has been driving throughLes mer

We did a quick stop at the famous salt flats of Uyuni, they have a lot of water now, we will come back in may to drive and camp on them when they are dryer. Then on our way toward lake Titicaca.
Lake Titikaka, Copacabana

Bolivian side of lake Titikaka. A sort of pretty village, quite touristy with lots of places to have a drink and enjoy the lake. We took a tour with Vidal who is an Aymara guide, but also a priestLes mer
Puno (lake Titicaca), Peru

Puerto Inka & the road to Nazca

Nazca

Oasis de Moron

Another oasis in the desert, but this one is not touristy at all. It is a weird sight to have sand dunes everywhere and then all of a sudden a little lake.
