The final stretch 🏃‍♀️

🇺🇸 Last day. I started with a breakfast in a small retro café right on the Nakasendo route. It was busy and hot the entire day - A distinctively different experience than the previous 500km. I took a lot of breaks to fully enjoy the short 13km day and to take in all the interesting places I walked past. I was definitely happy when I arrived at the Nihombashi bridge (until I realized that I had to walk another 1,5km to my Hotel 😅). I visited Ueno during the evening to buy a new bag and eat dinner and then went for an early sleep.

A few stats not counting the multi-day stays in Hikone, Nagoya and Matsumoto:
I walked 648291 steps or 495km with an average moving speed of ~4,3kph. I took the train for about 75km of the Nakasendo but compensated with a few detours and extra sight-seeing at various destinations.

🇩🇪 Der letzte Tag. Ich habe mit einem üppigen Frühstück in einem Retro-Café, was direkt an der Nakasendo-Route lag, gestartet. Es war den ganzen Tag heiß und voller Menschen - Ein wirklich komplett andere Erfahrung im Vergleich zu dem Rest des Nakasendos. Ich habe mir heute schön viel Zeit gelassen, um die letzten 13km zu genießen. Ich war definitiv glücklich als ich Nihombashi (Japan-Brücke) erreicht habe (zu mindestens bis ich merkte, dass ich noch 1,5km zum Hotel laufen musste).
Abends bin ich nochmal nach Ueno gefahren, um Abend zu essen und mir einen neuen Beutel zu kaufen.

Ein paar Statistiken zum Hike ohne die mehrtägigen Aufenthalte in Hikone, Nagoya und Matsumoto:
Ich bin 648291 Schritte oder 495km mit einem Durchschnittstempo von ~4,3kmh gelaufen. Zwar habe ich für etwa 75km des Nakasendos den Zug genutzt, aber habe diese auch mit einigen Umwegen und Sight-Seeing in manchen Tageszielen ausgeglichen.Read more
