  • Santiago Mañana

    27 agosto 2022, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

This will be my last day before I will reach Santiago tomorrow! The landscape is still nice, green and you see that the whole area of Galizia is richer than Navarra or Castilia y Leon! Houses are nicer, farms modern and the weather is more like our „normal“ summer! Still a lot of pilgrim tourists on the street but really annoying are the bikers who try to do slalom around the pilgrims when shooting downhill- fullspeed! I am surprised that I don’t see more accidents!Leggi altro

  • Santiago de Compostela

    28 agosto 2022, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Today another 27 Km and I am done! More than 800 km through Navarra, Castilla & Leon and Galicia - over the Pyrenees, through the Meseta and up the Leon mountains! Thank you a lot to my wife who made this happen! 😘
In front of the church my Camino friend Davide waited for me and a few pilgrims friends I met on the way joined for lunch! The mess in the Cathedral was an experience when you are not catholic! Now I go to the end of the world and can’t wait to see my family again! Miss you all! 💋

  • Am Ende

    29 agosto 2022, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Just arrived in Finisterre after a 2 h drive! This time with a rental car! Was quite exhausted - maybe normal after all the walking! There are still some pilgrims here who have the same idea! Will drive along the coast tomorrow- maybe I will meet Davide tomorrow who chose to walk!Leggi altro

  • Und ganz am Ende- am Kap

    29 agosto 2022, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Puh- this is high! Went to see the „0“m- stone and the end of the world (Spanish „Finisterre“) ! Did I mention that I am afraid of hights? 🥴
But I went there and did the pictures! Now I am
    Looking for shells!

  • Before my plane arrives

    30 agosto 2022, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

I spent the last day with Davide and partly with some of his friends in Muxia and Fisterra! Muxia is officially the religious point zero of the Camino (while Finesterre is the geographical end of the journey!)! However for me Santiago de Compostela was the final point of the way and the rest was just an add on!
We had a nice dinner to watch the sunset- although the sun was hiding behind clouds! In the night I drove back to the Airport, slept 2 h in the car and started my flight back home via Barcelona (where a mega thunderstorm shook us up)! Ready to finally get back home to my family- can’t wait!
