    Twenty fourth stop - O Pedrouzo

    May 25, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

    Ribadiso da Baixo -> 24km -> O Pedrouzo
    With the heat down, walking becomes easier. Yesterday's big storm cooled the temperatures so we managed to walk further than planned today. More eucalyptus forests were passed, which seemed to be everywhere in Galicia. Last night before the big arrival tomorrow - fingers crossed all goes wellRead more

    Palas de Rei -> 25km -> Ribadiso da Baixo
    Today was a long day, knowing the whole way that it may rain at any point. The weather in Galicia is quite hectic - can change in minutes! But we made it safe and dry, but knocked off our feet. Walking through eucalyptus forests, it was great! And obviously - pulpo a la Gallega, what else?Read more

    Twenty second stop - Palas de Rei

    May 23, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

    Portomarín -> 24km -> Palas de Rei
    Well, this place teaches us the reality of the term "Don't judge a book by its cover". There is no palace and there is no King (there is nothing here, really), however, today's misty weather made for a mystical walk along Galicia. And we had pulpo a la Gallega with a nice caña de Estrella Galicia!Read more

    Today's shorter walk will allow for a resting afternoon. We are down to the last 100km - only 4 days left until Santiago! It feels so long and so short at the same time. Off to see what's here!Read more

    Tricastela -> 23km -> Barbadelo
    Today we hit the famous 100km line to Santiago! This is where it gets more crowded normally, so let's see how this goes. But the views were great as usual!

    Vero Perret

    Well done! Almost there!

    La Laguna de Castilla -> 23km -> Tricastela
    We are officially in Galicia - the last region of the trip! It's amazing here, the views from the hilltops we were on today - great. Many ups and downs, was not always easy but always beautiful. Arrived in Tricastela where we are enjoying princess like life in a beautiful albergue!Read more

    May 19, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

    Villafranca del Bierzo -> 26km -> La Laguna de Castilla
    Today's walk was not as long as it was steep. We hiked up +700m to end up in a village of 27 people on a hilltop. I think there are more chickens here than people but look at that view! AwesomeRead more

    First long walk for my mom and she made it! It was super nice, walking in the del Bierzo wine region. Was not aware that Spain had so many lovely white wines! Heat is rising here but the sun is highly appreciatedRead more

    After yesterday's beautiful diner, which was a real melting pot of nationalities, today we walked to Astorga, where we visited the beautiful Cathedral and walked around town. From there we took a train (and skipped a huge storm it seems) to Ponferrada from which we will continue the road tomorrow!Read more
