  • Reykjavik

    September 14, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Well the trolls from the legends have arrived in Iceland. We've been surrounded by tall gorgeous blonds so far, im sure they will be appalled by us. Its 530am and we are waiting for our bus downtown. The flight was good we sat across from each other with enpty seats in between us and the "others". I sat beside a gawker who would open mouth stare at us everytime we talked. Also had a couple in front of me that brought their own buffet on the plane. However the best was the beauties behind us. All I can say is double fanny pack and a sleep mask with her eye glasses over them.Read more

  • Hub of Reykjavik

    September 15, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Well its raining and gusting wind and freezing cold we arrived into the city at 630. Not a thing was open and our check in was not until 2! Mom went into a hotel and casually asked where we could get a coffee, the front desk clerk took pity on poor mom and allowed us to sit in the breakfast area and help ourselves to coffee. After about an hour I started to feel guilty and began to wander in the rain and stalked our Airbnb. I noticed the lights were on so I sent a message saying we were in town since the owner mentioned we could check early if need be. We then finally found a breakfast place open at 730am and had the best coffee ever. Its now 9am and we are breaking the cardinal rule and taking a 3 hour nap as we could not sleep on the plane due to the distraction by sleepmask/glasses lady! See you in a few hours!Read more

  • Day 1

    September 15, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C

So we got a good 3 hour nap and ventured out for the day. It was rainy but not too cold. We spent the majority of the time looking at the same t-shirts in different stores as we wandered around... If she didnt finally buy it I may have lost my mind...Lots of very cute buildings, very colourful and lots of cool graffitti; which is welcomed and adds character. Surrounded by water and hills. Finished at a great fish and chips place where you can only choose between a couple catches of the day. Early night and then another day wandering the city tomorrow before the Blue Lagoon.Read more

  • Laundromat cafe

    September 16, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Slept over 10 hrs! Something woke us both up at 915, and it was a challenge to get mom out of bed.. So lazy haha. Day started out rainy again so we made our way to The laundromat cafe for breakfast, I had a deliscious avocado toast, mom just wanted Coffee pumped directly into her veins. Shop was super cute, my goal on this trip is to pry mom away from her phone. Mom took a picture of a statue she felt represented my scolding of her inability to choose a T-shirt after looking at them 10 timesRead more

Well ended up having a bit of a late night after the blue lagoon, drinking wine and watching british game shows. At Te and Kaffi now having a coffee before our golden circle tour. Hope I wake up a bit, woke up in the middle of the night to a weird dream that I was rushing to Aunt Cathys castle because she was a princess then someone pinned me down and cut my hair into a mullet?!?!? I have no idea where that came from but it was traumatizing. Forecast is better, cloudy but no rain and sunny tomorrow!Read more

One woman was wearing a oink fur coat with a large brimmed leopard print hat...thankful we got to another location and split to other buses and they werent on our tour. The landscape was great with steam coming out of the ground and small waterfalls all over. Stopped at E( cant spell it) the volcano that erupted in 2010 and disrupted all travel for a few weeks. Thats mom standing with it behind her.Read more

  • Randoms and lots of sheep

    September 18, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

We were lucky to see sheep herding. The sheep here from all farms are just wandering randomly intermingling through the year this time all the farmers come and round them out and then sort them out by ear tags. Sheeps whose tags have fallen off are assigned to who they believe they belong too by a council and its sorted and agreed upon very quickly. Mom loved this . Stockholm tomorrow at 330anRead more
