  • Kooma View Old Farmhouse free camp

    Nov 11–13, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

This is a amazing free camp. Owners have moved to new house on the property and have kindly opened up the area for travellers to enjoy. The old homestead has been left exactly how it was when they moved out in the 80s.
They leave the key in the back door for us all to enjoy and remember the past.
We've only seen the homestead so far but there are sheds old machinery and walk trail to enjoy.
All they ask for is a donation.
    Will post more photos tomorrow.
We are parked under a tree that is full of Baby birds still in their nest. Love this place.

    Oct 26–30, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Arrived yesterday all set up in caravan park for a few days while the car gets new shoes today and a service tomorrow. Getting ready to hit the Nullarbor very soon. Omg it drives amazing with her new shoes. Hopefully now we can go off-road gravel a bit more safer rather than with highway tyres.
Highly recommend Bridgestone tyres Kalgoolie for all your tyre needs.

Left today thursday after getting new shoes on the van also they were getting pretty worn so we thought best do it before we hit the middle of nowhere.
So all up this trip so far we have purchased 9 new tyres best get Gary a job pretty soon at this rate lol.

    October 23, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Day drive to check out Kookynie the living ghost town. In its prime 3500 people lived here established in 1907. There only about 20 people today. Lots of history with all the ruins of old buildings. When we were here 5 years ago the famous kookynie horse who goes into the pub was there today we saw him in the distance roaming free around the town probably waiting for pub to open lol.
Took a drive out to the cemetery where there is said to be 150 graves. I was shocked at how many deaths were from suicide really moving reading some of the plaques so many were just children and baby's.
There is a volunteer group who goes around fixing up and replacing plaques on all the forgotten pioneer graves in the outback. The job they do is truly amazing.
The cemetery is about 3ks out of town down bush tracks no one would even know it was there.
While we were leaving out in middle of nowhere was a stop sign gary being gary luckly actually stopped as the train was actually coming lol.
