Jávea to Finestrat

My oh my do I know how to pack a day. I woke up this morning not knowing what the weather would bring as we got severe weather alerts on our phones last night. Imagine my surprise when I opened the door to find sunshine. I took a bus to Gata de gorgos where I transferred to a tram to Altea. I then walked through Benidorm to reach peace and tranquility in Finestrat. I remembered very quickly why I hate Benidorm. It’s a concrete jungle full of beer swigging brits. I sensibly booked my hotel a couple of miles away from the chaos. Martin and I spent 6 weeks in Benidorm in January back in 98/99 and it was pleasant but they’ve just kept building and attracting commoners. However that aside I’ve seen some beautiful beaches today with Benidorm being right up there. As it’s Valentine’s Day I treated myself to my final trip to the laundrette. I met a Mexican lady who has arrived in Spain after living in Israel for 15 years. She had a double mastectomy with oestrogen + breast cancer same as mine.
