Undercover Giants Fan

After getting tickets to the Giants and officially bandwagoning for them, I thought seeing an away game against the Hirsohima Carp would be fun. I wanted to make sure I bought tickets to the Visitors fan section so I could rewear all my gear (and not need to buy anything new). Clever! Except that I can't read and accidentally bought tickets to the Carp Fan Section. So, I looked up the team's colors and wore my closest, bought the cheapest pin and noise makers I could at the team store, and stocked up on Carp Balloons. I looked the part enough to only stand out as a foreigner, not as a secret Giants fan. The game was fun, and the Carp chants were alright... but when I heard the thunderous Giants chants from their surprisingly large sized visitor section, I knew that's where my home was. Regardless, I enjoyed the balloon release in the 7th inning, but tired of the chant that required standing up and sitting down alternating with the person next to you. It reminded me of the CU leaning back and forth cheer, but this one made me basically do like 75 squats during the game. My Giants beat up the Carp pretty badly, and I was glad to see two Giants victories while in Japan.Meer informatie
