Pooploop to Pokemon

For my last days prior to work, I somewhat wandered and let the day
plan itself. I started with a walk through Akasaka to a coffee roaster with a large open courtyard and a Southwestern USA vibe. After good (but not Glitch level) coffee and catching up on emails, I ventured all around various shops and parks near Tokyo Midtown. One small museum caught my eye from the unique architecture, and google reviews said the exhibit with moving parts was really cool! The last "move" that exhibit did though was out of the museum, to be replaced by "PoopLoop". The new exhibit had the broad message of the importance of life cycles in the world, including examples like recycling, rust, and yes, excrement. The coined term "Poop Loop" was made to represent all cyclic processes and their benefit to the ecosystem and society. They had art pieces showing rust, others with mold, and many related to poop. There were a variety of animal statues, each made by droppings of said animal (and coated in resin); from pidgeon to goat. It was quite the way to visualize it, but i appreciate the messaging. Despite my appetite being reduced, I had a double big mac right afterwards to continue the cycle.
Moving on, the next day I walked more around Akasaka and had a hankering for mexican food. The burrito I ordered had very high quality ingredients but the flavors were all off and no spice was present. I'll just have to wait until home for that craving. From there I ventured to the Nintendo and Pokémon stores in Shibuya, and fought the crowds to get fun pics and merch. On my way back, I was noticing the trip had worn on my body somewhat, and my shoulders were particularly stiff. I saw a thai massage place on the way back, and popped in for quick massage. The masseuse commented that next time she would start with a pickaxe as it would be easier to work the knots in my back. I felt much better afterwards, and refreshed for the start of my work portion of the trip.Read more
