Scenes from Chiang Mai

Chaos reigned last night in the old town as people congregated waiting for something to happen. The launching of the lanterns was cancelled and many people made their way to the river to set their offerings (little boat like arrangements with candles) on their journey. It was all too much for us and we decided to head back to our district for dinner. Tuk tuk drivers were taking the opportunity to make too many bucks so it was a hot 3km walk back.
