Driving the Isle of Skye

We spent about 3 hours today on and off driving through the Highlands to make our way to the stunning Isle of Skye.
Glenbrittle, Isle of Skye

We stayed totally off the grid at the most beautiful campsite. We were in the mountains, surrounded by sheep, and on the ocean. It was so nice to unplug and rewind.
Fairy Pools

We started our morning with an hour hike to the Fairy Pools. These pools and mountains were carved out by glaciers many many years ago.

The Quiraing

We drove up the beautiful Quiraing on our way to see the Fairy Glenn. We almost got blown away at the top it was so windy. The view was so worth it.
Fairy Glenn

Cullin Mountains

We enjoyed the view of the Cullin Mountains this morning on our drive to Fort William. We spent more time driving today than expected due to an overbooked ferry but we are finally in Glencoe!
Fort William

We stopped for lunch in the sleepy little town of Fort William on our way to Glencoe. It’s a big hiking pit stop due to the large mountain of Ben Nevis. Ben Nevis is the tallest mountain in Scotland.

The Three Sisters

On our drive out of Glencoe we stopped at the Three Sisters which is three mountains on the edge of Glencoe. It’s a dreary day for our drive back.
The Kelpies

Our last tourist stop of the trip was to see the Kelpies which is a large horse statue about an hour outside of Edinburgh.
Last Moments in Scotland

We arrived back in Edinburgh for our train back to London with a few hours to kill so we had a full Scottish breakfast, checked out a local art shop, and sipped cocktails and coffee at a really coolLeggi altro
