    The Omni Parker Hotel

    August 10, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

The Omni Parker is the longest continuously running hotel in America and the most haunted in Boston. We couldn't get a reservation because it's booked out for months plus it's just super expensive to stay there but I did manage to get us into the Last Hurrah for dinner.

Our waiter Francesco looked like a man with a few stories to tell so I asked him if it was haunted and at first he seemed sceptical but then came back over to ask if we were staying at the hotel. When we said no, he said 'OK I can tell you' and proceeded to give us a run down on all the ghostly activity.

So there was a woman who walked up to the Dickens mirror (pictured) on the mezzanine level and said all she could see was black and felt a presence. She then went back down to the dining room and saw and image of Parker and said 'that's him!'.

There was a guy staying that tried to leave without paying and they caught on the camera the door mat flipped over and blocked him in the door.

There was a regular guest that heard a party in the ballroom and just mentioned to the waiter that it was a bit noisy that party last night and there had been no party.

Also, the Omni is also where JFK proposed to Jackie. And every president since its opening has either stayed or dined in the hotel.

Lastly, it is the home of the Boston Cream Pie. It was actually invented there and has since become a cult claasic of the city. So it was a great night listening to all these fantastic stories. If you go ask for Francesco, he also encouraged us to poke around into some of these rooms that I don't think we were supposed to just btw. It wasn't our idea!!
