  • Day xx - Flying from Nashville to Vegas

    18 de janeiro de 2025, Nova Zelândia ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Super early start to the day but Mandy, Richie and Molly were up at 3.30am to see us off.
The first flight to Denver was 2 hours and easy. Once we arrived in Denver it was snowing and there were problems with our plane so after a couple of hours delay and 4 gate changes we hoped on board a newer plane and headed off to Las Vegas.
Nashville was 2 degrees, Denver was -15 degrees and then we arrived in Las Vegas which was 15 degrees, so layers were our friends.
The strip and our Paris hotel is mind blowing, the replica Eiffel tower is right outside our hotel window and as it got dark the towel sparked with lights, changing colours every few minutes.
Dom had his first poker game in Vegas, playing in the horseshoe in the Poker Hall of Fame room.

  • Day xx - Second day in Vegas

    19 de janeiro de 2025, Nova Zelândia ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

After luxing out at the Paris hotel on the strip we woke up late, and headed off to area 15 where we had an axe throwing competition. Took a bit to get the technique right but it was so much fun. After we went to Caesars Place which is jam packed full of shopping. As dusk crept in we went up the eiffel tower and viewed the strip from high up. The Bellagio Water Show at night from that height was mind blowing. $50 Kebabs for dinner were consumed before the Shin Lim Magic show. Close up slight on hand magic tricks blew everyone away.Leia mais

  • Day xx Last Day in Vegas

    20 de janeiro de 2025, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 5 °C

An early start for Dom. While the kids slept Dom headed off to pick up the rental car for the day a Ford Mustang 2022 model in red which Dom named Sally. Breakfast was at Winnie & Ethels downtown diner. Where the staff were super friendly and was named after the Grandmother's of the owners. After breakfast we headed to the Pawn shop so the boys could go into the shop they have seen so many times on TV. Today was Martin Luther King day, so while the boys were in the Pawn shop, I caught glimpses of the parade going past. Swirls of colour and the constant rhythm of the drummers.

Top down and at 65mph we sped towards the Hover Dam with the top down. Built during the Depression; thousands of men and their families came to Black Canyon to tame the Colorado River. It took less than five years to build. The Dam is a National Historic Landmark and has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders.

After the Dam we split into a shopping team and a Vegas Sign team. After dropping back the car we all met back up at the Hotel for a 15 minute turnaround to head out for Steaks at a Paris themed restaurant named My Favourite Bistro and then onto the Blue Man Show which was an experience, paint drumming, paper explosions and crowd partipation.

  • Day xx - Hawaii here we come

    21 de janeiro de 2025, Estados Unidos ⋅ 🌙 -22 °C

Getting used to these early wake ups for flights, but still no one loves them. First time through security where no one got searched. Gold star for the family.

Our first flight was an hour and a half to San Francisco. After landing, it was a strange experience watching passengers in the back trying to get to the front of the plane. I was thinking there had been some mad zombie juice in the plane coffee bit then learnt that catching connecting flights was a massive stress for a lot of traveller's. The people who were behind us had ten minutes before their boarding closed on the next flight. Walking through the gate in the airport was like watching the start of a very strange sprint race with passengers running with their carry-on. Thankfully, we had an hour of chill time before our next flight to Hawaii, which was
Just over 5 hours. Very bumpy flight.

Both planes were Boeing 777-200 one being an ER the other an LR. Both were full which means we were flying will about 300 other people.
