Nairobi, I've landed xxx

Wow what. Lovely flight with a lovely lady to chat to. Premium economy gd food, good films. Luggage took forever to come I was getting worried. Says it's 18 degrees at the moment but feels slightly chilly in tent 23 which is a family tent with 3 beds. I may sleep in a different bed each night 🤣. Some bumpy roads on the way here, great taxi driver Georgina who was a right laugh, who is going to take me and a couple of others on trip to town tmw. Will take some pics in the morning but here's a few from the plane. It's nearly midnight here so will sort myself out and get to bed xxxLeia mais

Day 2 Morning @wildebeest eco camp

Woke up to some crazy noises, leaflet is saying you can get 100 species of birds, 2 kinds of primate and mongoose here.
Had a wander, a lovely breakfast in the sun, couldn't find my tent again (you know me and directions) and now sitting on my veranda, only wildlife and the rustling of the trees,did I say I was in Africa?? 🥰 XxxLeia mais

Day 2. Tour of Nairobi

Brilliant day, went to the Nairobi national museum. Was a really good and interesting tour then saw some snakes and fish, held a snake.
Got some breathtaking views of Nairobi from a viewing platform.
Then onto a bead factory that helps support the Masai women, was so so gd, got emotional when the women sang and danced for us. Then went inside the shop and bought some goodies already.
Then popped into another shop, had to restrain myself, bought a tiny zebra made from banana leaves.
Then back to the camp for a lounge by the pool and update u guys.

Giraffes,Elephants and 1st night in camp

Today we went to the giraffe centre and fed giraffes which was epic and then the Sheldrick elephant orphanage and it was just soooo amazing that I couldn't hold back the tears. We are back at Wildebeest eco camp for the first night of camp life. All of the group together, a nice number of 12 so not a huge group which is nice, I'm sharing a tent with a girl named Sophie who has done a tour before with this company.
We have all helped to prepare and cook the food and make fajitas for dinner Nd washing up etc. now for bed because the mosquitos are going to devour me pretty sn!! Just a wonderful day 🥰 xxLeia mais

Day in the masai mara

Day 3 of tour, had a fantastic day meeting the people of the Masai Mara. Long day of travel though but it was worth it.
We have seen their way of living, heard alot about the nature and the way they use it in life. Seen them start a fire from scratch, met the children and widows, and sang wonderwall to them (don't ask) and brought some crafts.
It's been so so hot today..early start tmw up for 05:30 breakfast to set off in jeeps for a game drive all day from 06:30. An another greet day xxxLeia mais

Tour day 4. Game drive in masai mara xxx

Such a wonderful day I can't quite believe it if truth be told!!! Giraffes, gazelles, elephants, giraffes, buffalo wildebeast,topi, birds, cheetah it's been crazy great day. Jeep got a flat tyre on way back to camp, didn't take him long to change it and been a lovely evening in camp with a really hot shower hooray!!!

Well I woke up to be out at 5 today, nobody else had paid to do the hot air balloon. So I was taken off and joined others for the package hot air balloon and champagne breakfast before then joining everyone else for a game drive in the Masai mara, our 2nd and last day before packing up camp and moving on to lake navaisha. A long day just driving tmw so off to bed shortly xxxLeia mais

A lovely walk around Crater Lake where we saw some wildlife, a big hike to a great viewpoint and had a lovely lunch on a floating restaurant.
And then a trip to Elsemere that Joy Adams of Born Free set up and had some cake. Before getting back to camp and washing up duty tonight.

Kenya, Day 9. But tour day 7.

Went on a morning boat cruise to see hippos and birds, saw some waterbuck was really lovely.
Then on the way to next campsite, went to an orphanage, bless em such beautiful children.

Been a most excellent morning on a game drive, and seen Rhino's whoop whoop and lions which have been excellent. This really is pawsome 😍.

Beautiful day game driving in lake Nakuru. Saw many animals including the elusive rhino, beautiful lions and flamingos amongst the usual fabulous animals.

Day 12. Day 10 of tour. Uganda!!! Xx

Well we did the extremely long journey from Kenya into Uganda today..on the road from 7 till 4ish. The queues were crazy long for miles, then had to go to various offices for stamps and change money etc.
But I'm here in Uganda and we are at this camp for 3 nights and I've booked on to a tandem kayak in rapids tmw which I thought I'd never do due to fear of water and capsizing etc so wish me luck guys.

Day 13. Day 11 of tour,white water kayak

Today a massive achievement in my 45 years of life, rolling under the water in a kayak and white water laying on the Nile.
Lots of crying but wonderful moments for me who doesn't like water in her face!!! Also a sunset cruise and it was beautiful. Pics to follow of kayaking when I can find em xxxLeia mais
