At the time of the earthquake I slept at my apartment on the 8th floor.
Suddenly the tower started to shake. Shaking was strong enough to make me wake up and roll around in bed.

Parque Arví is worth a visit but an expensive trip.
You can get there by Metro and then take a Cable Car for a very long ride up the mountain.

Another walk or hike to a Mountain. Initially wanted to visit "Ecoparque Mirador Cerro El Picacho" but the driver said its to dangerous to walk around there.

Day-Trip to Guatape ⛰

A beautiful day at "El Peñol de Guatape".
Took the bus from Terminal Norte in Medellin, for a 2h drive to Guatape.
A bit over 700 steps at approx 2100m altitude.

Really beautiful place. Reminds me a bit of Cartagena.

Decided to travel by bus from Medellin to Pereira.

Here I started my day in the coffee ☕ region.
Beautiful peace of nature. Mirador de Filandia is a 15min walk away from Filandia town centre.
It offers some spectacular views over the valley.

Alto de Nudo in Pereira ⛰

Decided to do a day trip to the Mountain ⛰, Alto de Nudo.
It looked easier on Google's Maps, then it actually was. Ended up with some 7kms of a hike and quite some elevation.

Managed to visit Jardín de Botánico en Pereira. Was a bit hard to find, because it's part of the local University Campus. So it's not easily or free accessible like in Medellin or Bogotá.

Vale de Cocora & Salento

Went on a local bus trip to Salento and took a Jeep 🚙 from there to Vale de Cocora.
