Patrick and Beth played Go Fish! in Spanish, Philip helped Will with his suits for back to school and we all had an excellent dinner and last night in Boise. Taking home a Rosemary plant that looks like it’s from a Dr.Seuss book. Let’s hope it makes it.Meer informatie

Our week in Boise has come to an end and we now begging our drive back East. What a fun week we had and huge thanks to the Bartlett family for taking us on unexpectedly and for longer than planned. Such a nice oasis of fun and family. A surprise bonus to our trip!

We weren’t sure what to except here and even in the rain it was gorgeous. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and we thought it was gorgeous and imagined it on a sunny day in our minds.

Took the scenic drive ten miles in to see the STUNNING views from the top of this 0.4 mile loop. Even with raindrops we all enjoyed the hike. Patrick loved the mud of course!

When in Jamestown, you must go see the world’s largest 🦬 buffalo at 26’ tall! There is a small herd of live Buffalo, but they were off in the distance.

Stayed nearby and thought it would be an easy stop, but of course there was construction 🚧. Our campsite did have a cute gnome house!Meer informatie

We stopped at the Fargo-Moorhead Visitor Center for Sarah to get her certificate and t-shirt (free!) for visiting North Dakota as her 50th state! Now she is a proud member of the “Best for Last” club!

The woman asked what were states 48 and 49, which were Alaska (48) and Hawaii (49) and it turns out most people have the same last three as they are the hardest to reach.

Also here was a walk of fame and the wood chipper from the movie Fargo. A couple took a picture holding their toddler above the chipper, classy.

And we love that they call Diet Coke “pop” here so we had to take a picture of that, too.Meer informatie

Passed through states 2 & 3 for the day on our way to Chicago. We’ve noticed the landscape change from grassland and a drier climate to a tree filled climate that is much greener. Also passed a rodeo in MN that looked like fun (must hit one on our next trip!) and some cool bronze sculptures of cowboys on horseback shooting at a stagecoach.

Just crossed over the St.Croix river!

Patrick has been writing us secret notes and mazes on his whiteboard. Prepping for second grade?!?Meer informatie

We descended upon the Hunters last night for a quick recharge before meeting Maddie and Joy at Notre Dame for move-in day.

Michelle (Sarah’s co-captain from Middlebury and bestie since high school) and Gary were so great to welcome us with a tasty beverage as we arrived after driving nearly 740 miles in one day. In the morning the kids all had fun playing and meeting each other. What a perfect place and we all hope to get together again soon!Meer informatie
