Day 13

My new shoes arrived in the mail! It was fantastic to be able to walk normal again and return the defective shoe that was causing so many problems. Kudos to REI and their 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I caught a ride (without even having to stick out my thumb) back to PVC and started back out on the trail. Hiking solo now since Stewart headed into the storm on Saturday. I saw Stewart in Idyllwild before leaving (he had come back down using a side trail). It was so windy that he wasn't able to setup his tent.
