Dar Es Salaam Day 1

We ported in Dar Es Salaam early in the morning. I headed to Nyerere National Park to do a safari while Monica spent a day in town touring the city and the beaches. The flight to Nyerere was thrilling in a single engine prop plane. The Tanzania airport is something else. I was given the boarding pass of Kenneth Earl because “it would make the boarding process so much faster.” We landed on a dirt runway but the pilot did a masterful job.

Seeing lions and many other animals up so close in this huge park without any fences was a lot of fun. The pictures speak for themselves.Read more
