  • Campsite

    11 Juni 2025, Maroko ☀️ 31 °C

It's hot, so I opted for a liquid lunch.
This campsite is nice. There are 5 guests in total. A father and son team, a couple and myself. Also, no Muezin can be heard!
I will make a drive into the mountains in the next few days to see how it feels, as next week we are over 40!

    UV factor 10!

  • Basecamp

    15–16 Jun 2025, Maroko ☀️ 11 °C

Started at 8:30 at 1740m above sealevel to the basecamp. After 4h we arrived at the basecamp Toubkal at 3204m.

We wanted (guide and me) to climb up early this morning at 4am. I thought I had a good rest, but after 30min. I could feel the legs and knees. I decided to turn around, as we would climb 5h to the summit, 4h to the Refuge and another 3h to Imlil.

No Toubkal, no peak and no pain!

  • Shit happens part 2

    18 Juni 2025, Maroko ⛅ 32 °C

UPDATE: Helmet wasnt stolen! A security guard took it and locked it up for the night. I had left my marrocan number just in case!

FOR SALE: new helmet, worn twice, funny colour.

Last night my helmet was stolen from the bike (my fault).
At 9:30 in the morning I went to get the replacement and was stopped by a policeman because of the missing helmet. He also checked my papers and .......it turns out my marrocan insurance expired on the 17th June!

Big issue! The BMW was impounded after waiting for the tow truck in this heat! I was taken to the station (Medina) and had to wait.

Eventually the top guy told me to show him the German insurance paper. I had a 4 hour window until the station closes to present a document or else! My mobile was dead and I needed the laptop. I got a taxi to the campsite and called the insurance people. They issued a new insurance policy starting yesterday, emailed it to me and I got the taxi guy to drive me to a print shop. With the paper I went back to the police station and so I was continuously insured in Marroco.

Long story short. After 6h in 40 degrees this saga was over and I had the BMW back.

First job was to get a helmet. Not beautiful, but will do the job.
Second job was to eat and get a beer from the supermarket!

  • Shit happens in Q (update)

    22–23 Jun 2025, Maroko ⛅ 36 °C

Not everything was bad: I went shopping, had a cigar and walked around a bit to see how Maroccans live here.

    Manchmal gehts auch so!
    Ich teste gerade meine Reparatur.

Went into town to fill up the bike, supermarket for some shopping and a little salad for lunch.
Came back to the bike and had a flat tyre!
Immediately people wanted to help. Really really nice!
Called eventually the ADAC at 17:03 and at 17:18 the marroccan partner contacted me for the details of the tyre!

    ان شاء الله.

    24 Juni 2025, Maroko ☀️ 22 °C

    15:00: I arrived at 43 degrees.

Started my way to Merzouga. 300km. Had one cloud for a bit of shade for 4 min.
Let's see if the tyres make it.

It's now 13:00 and I have 41 degrees and it's OK. Lots of water and a few breaks......Baca selengkapnya

  • On route back to Marrakech

    26–28 Jun 2025, Maroko ⛅ 22 °C

10:45: made it back . Am in the pool after 1300km of motorcycling!

    27/06 'only' 127km to Marrakech.

26/06 At midnight I wanted to stop. 170km in the Atlas mountains is too much. I managed nearly 100km and found a super guest house online and arrived at 00:20! Check the location!

26/06 The tyre repair kit didnt work. After several stops and not even making half the journey I had to get the tyre patched from inside.

Der Reifen mußte gepatched werden. Der junge Mann wollte 5€! Ich gab ihm 10.

26/06 Staying over in the middle of nowhere, but it is in the mountains.

25/06 Left Mazouga and made my way back to Marrakech, but slowly.

  • Lali’s takeover part 1

    27 Juni 2025, Maroko ⛅ 32 °C

After an unfortunate 4 hour stay at Agadir due to a storm and *some* trouble at the boarder with the police, security and phone battery, I found Papi outside marrakech airport around 22:30. After some food, drink and a Riad selection screening process, we headed to stay the night in a room directly next to the (much needed) pool. Next morning up to breakfast and straight to El Badi palace for some educational sightseeing. Fun fact: the holes in the wall are because they used wooden planks to help the climb and build the wall, then took them out once the wall was dried. A necessary short break for lunch and mocktails in 42 degrees and over to the souks for some shopping, luckily for us not in direct sunlight. After accidentally circling areas of the market several times and sympathising with some monkeys outside the market on the square we headed back to cool off before dinner in a rooftop lounge with Papi’s favourite kind of music.Baca selengkapnya

  • Lali’s takeover part 2

    29 Jun – 1 Jul 2025, Maroko ☀️ 31 °C

After a long 45 degree drive to Essaouira, Papi and I took a selfie to say we made it (it was a long drive don’t judge him). We had lunch by the beach and started the search for our next riad. We walked around the medina a little to take the city in and sat in a beach rooftop for drinks and some food to recharge and even got to enjoy more of Sasha’s top 5 music genres. We walked through the most amazing concept shop with a roof cafe and through the markets, only to find a little dm shop- and then another. After some shopping and drinks we head back to our lovely riad for some shut eye. The next morning after breakfast we went to see some game of thrones sights and walk through more of the medina. After a little r and r back home, we went for food again in another rooftop and called an early night after ice cream and a stroll.Baca selengkapnya

  • Lali’s takeover part 4

    4–5 Jul 2025, Maroko ☀️ 27 °C

Driving up to marrakech for the final night with a lunch stop in Agafay. After talking to his new friends in 40 degree desert heat, Papi and I decided to head off to cool off in our riad pool. We headed out for dinner (and a few too many cocktails) before going home hours before my flight. Safe to say getting up was a struggle and after a quick drive to the airport, and a little run I made it- only for my plane to be delayed. Luckily not as rough flight as the way there and I made it back in one piece.

All in all was a great trip. Thank you Papi xx

    Lali over and out
