Innsbruck is the HQ of swarovski, and they have a park which houses crystal exhibitions called the krystalworld. Thus we hop onto the shuttle bus outside of congress statio and went there to take a look. Some of the displays are abit wierd, some are pretty, some doesn't really work eithoutí sunlight lol (for those outdoor exhibition areas. But still,if u come to innsbruck, u still gota come here if u can. And the price here isnt cheaper than other country like singapore due to the conversion rate of EuroRead more

Dinner at flojos

Its one of the 4 recommended place to eat, so me and wifey went there for dinner. Wanted something light so we ordered salad and bugfalo wings. But their portion is hugeeeee. Thus not a light dinner at all hahahaha. But its pretty yums and the place is abit qurky. But nice still. Regret never learn abit of german to know the menus better.Read more

Having nothing planned for the rest of the day, we decided to take a slow walk down the river and head into the old town for a look. Somehow houses along rivers in Europe are pretty idyllic lol

Surprisingly the christmas market is still on in salzburg. Well, it looks like a brewery's own market lol. But glad to see that there is still christmas spirit even after christmas!

Mozart cafe

Everywhere you can see mozart. Including the cafes lol. Wifey read about this cafe before, and we happened to chanced by it. So might as well try it out although we are nor hungry yet. We had the haferlkaffee (filter coffee with milk and whipped cream) and mozart kaffee (filter coffee with mozart liqueur and whipped cream. The drinks comes in very pretty cups and wifey loves it! The drink is not that bad either. For food we had the local speciality, salburger nockerl (which is a huge meringue) and spinach tortellini with gorgonzola cheese sauce. The huge meringue is tasty, but its those you-ate-once-and-you-wouldnt-wana-eat-again type of dessert. The tortelliniis yums! The cheese sauce is something that makes the dish stands out. Its unique taste is the defining factor. I would love to have it again!Read more

Mozart balls

Lol. It doesnt mean anything vulgar or strange, but its the laymen term of the mozart chocolate.

A Mozartkugel (English: Mozart ball), is a small, round confection made of marzipan, nougat and dark chocolate. It was originally known as the “Mozartbonbon”, and was created by Salzburg confectioner Paul Fürst in 1890 and named after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. (wikipedia)

So we went to the original Shop in salzburg that created this type of chocolate, Konditorei furst. I must say i am not a fan of the chocolate. Cause there is a almond taste in the centre. And i don't like almond taste. Too bad haha. But apparently there are 8 variations that spun out from this original version.Read more

The hills are alive! We headed out very early today to catch the tour bus to go for our 4hrs TSOM tour, and boy, lucky we are early as there are people waitig to board the bus as we arrive at the bus station in mirabellplatz. The excitment heightens as we head out to the first place for today, the lake where the scenes with the lake view is filmed and the lake where maria and the kids fell into the water, and this lake is used as the back of the vonn trapp family house when facing the lake. The mansion now is in private ownership, thus we only can view from afar.Read more

The tour is pretty interesting at the guide shares with us some facts about the vonn trapp family, and the difference between the movie and the actual account as written by maria vonn trapp in her own book. And although its abit far, but this is the mansiom used when maria first walked along the alley of trees and reached the front gate of the vonn trapp house.Read more

'i am sixteen going on seventeen...' you can hear people humming this song as you approach this pavillion. Yes this is where lisa sings the song with her bf hahaha. Its move from its original location to here to protect against vandalism, but no one now can go in due to a few years ago, an old auntie went in, got to excited, danced and sing while hopping onto the stone benches. She slipped and crashed through the glass panels. But she is ok haa. The one in the movie was recreated in hollywood, and the original one was used in the background scenes where you can see it.Read more

This is the abbey where scenes of maria with the nuns are filmed. Special permission are given to the film to film inside. Hopefully we can go up tomorrow to take a look see.

This lake scene was apparently used in one of the multiple 7 seconds sequences at the start of the movie before maria sings on the hill lol. Besides that, this lake is the most awesome lake i have even seen so far. The fog over the lake, with the mountain ridges behind. Awesomeness to the max.Read more

This cafe , cafe braun, serves one of the best apple strudels, and also half of the cafe is rented out to the crew of TSOM as a wardrobe lol. The owner was present when they film the musical movie too.Read more

Do-re-mi? Yeah this is where the final sequence is being shot for this song. It also marks the end of our 4 hr tour. There is a few sing along moments as the cd is played (abeit that the cd is not very good) which is quite fun. And you can identify who are those die hard fans from the way they can remember the lyrics lol.Read more

Triangel restaurant

The review seems not bad, thus we headed over to have our dinner. I ordered beef goulash with bread dumplings, while wifey ordered soup and grilled pork belly. We have to say that the soup is yummy! Its full of the meat flavor and its not too thick. The mains are good but not fantastic thou. But we enjoy visiting restaurnts that the locals go to, to experience the local atmosphere. Its a nice place to visit.Read more

Night all! We will be doing some free and easy visits around salzburg tomorow, update the blog soon! Oh yah, the time we usually rest is around local 6pm hahaha. After much discussion, we decided to have some asian food to lessen our cravings lol. We ended up at thos japanese restaurant in the old town, which seems to be run by chinese people haha. The food is not fantastic but edible lol. Although it does taste like instant food.Read more

We passed by here and it was closed, thus took the chance to visit it as it was opened today. Boy, its one of the most fragile shop i have been in hahah. Its a lot of fragile egg shells that was being decorated with pretty pictures and patterns. Its very traditional!Read more
