    21 juillet 2019, Angleterre ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Lara was at airport to meet me and we had the luxury of 3 nights mother/daughter time in London before heading to Exeter to meet Tom and Cooper. We got to our hotel in Westminster and settled in to our room. We ordered Ubereats for dinner (my first experience) and got to bed at around 9pm only to be woken at 1pm for a full fire evacuation! We atleast had our clothes on as many were in next to nothing - turned out to be quiet a funny night! I think someone vandalised the doors which set the alarms off - anyway it worked out okay as I was out of wack with my sleep.En savoir plus

  • Wales Tenby

    31 juillet 2019, Pays de Galles ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Tenby is a harbour town in southwest Wales known for its 13th-century town walls and its stretches of sandy shoreline, including Castle Beach. The ruins of Tenby Castle are on a headland overlooking the harbour featuring a 16th-century wrought-iron cannon. The Tudor Merchant’s House recreates domestic life in 1500, with a merchant's shop and working kitchen.

Lara and Coops played on the beach while Tom and I explored the headland - it is a very popular holiday destination.

  • Wales Pontneddfechan

    1 aoĂ»t 2019, Pays de Galles ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

We enjoyed a lovely drive to our accommodation in Pontneddfechan - walking distance to an odd shaped slate tiled building which said 'Waterfall Country - Bro'r Sgydau'. We set off through a gate across the road from the Angel pub and followed a good track following the left hand side of Nedd Fechan upstream. Immediately we were in the beautiful woodland. Below us Nedd Fechan rushed on by, no waterfalls to show in Nedd Fechan during the very early stages but plenty of stretches of rapids. We climbed up the easy slope of the valley while enjoying glistens of sunshine until reaching a rockpool.En savoir plus

  • Wales Brecon Mountain Railway

    1 aoĂ»t 2019, Pays de Galles ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Cooper was in his element having a ride on this heritage railway, running through the Brecon Beacons. It is based on the Brecon and Merthyr Railway, which opened originally in 1859 and closed in 1964. The dramatic South Wales landscape and impressively restored steam locomotives made for a great day out while in Wales.En savoir plus

  • Devon Exeter

    3 aoĂ»t 2019, Angleterre ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Caught up with Uncle Barry and Aunty Wendy - exploring the Quayside - Lots of swans to be seen on the river along with amazing history.

We explored the underground passages which were had bern especially repaired for tourists.
They were designed to bring clean drinking water from natural springs outside the walled city. The water came through lead pipes into the heart of the city. The pipes sometimes leaked and repairs to buried pipes could only be carried out by digging them up as we do today. To avoid this disruption the passages were vaulted.

    8 aoĂ»t 2019, Angleterre ⋅ ☀ 19 °C

Had an amazing lunch on this Cafe we travelled to by water taxi to access - moored in the middle of the Ex Estuary in Exmouth

The River Exe Cafe is a floating barge just off the water-ski lane on the River Exe. It was created back in 2011 using two flat bed barges and a shed! The base of the cafe is two mud hoppers from Stoke on Trent, which were transported by road down to Exmouth; sandblasted, painted and steel worked together to create a 1.7 km decking area on which to build the cafe. With no mains water or electricity, they use holding tanks and a generator.En savoir plus
