  • Road Trip to Ross on Wye

    We left Cardiff and headed northeast through Gloucestershire up to Ross on Wye where we came across our first dilemma...what do you do when you are in need of a toilet break, and you need the exact change to access the public loo...no tap the card option here!!

    Fortunately, we had change on us as you needed to insert a 20p coin to access the public amenities. Very fortunately we had two 20p coins!!

    In the morning we met with the brothers and sisters at Museum Place in Cardiff, followed by ecclesial lunch.

    After the meeting and lunch, we walked into Cardiff and visited Cardiff Castle.

    Our first day in Wales was very Welsh. We thought we had left Australia to escape the rain!?

    Tim kindly drove over to London to pick us up from the airport and drove us back to Cardiff.

    Tim and Mel organised a train trip into a food festival, including a visit to a shop that makes fresh welsh cakes. A great way to try and ward off the inevitable jetlag.Read more

  • Enroute to Cardiff

    We arrived after an uneventful journey. The long-haul sector started at sunset in Eastern Australia on Friday night and ended at sunrise on Saturday morning in the UK.

  • Ready to go

    It was December 2022 when Mum and Dad decided to let Leah and Toby know about our planned trip to the UK and Europe (God willing) as they decided it was too hard to start planning without letting the proverbial cat out of the bag!

    Mum devised a riddle with clues that needed to be solved. After much detective work and excitement, the riddle was solved!

    Dad then spent hours mulling over flight combinations and options and finally a decision was made that we would fly into London and out of Rome, with a few days in Singapore. Then the big question was, how would we get from London to Rome and which way would we go?

    Eventually we settled on a train trip that went from London to Paris to Germany to Switzerland and then down to Italy.
