    Erlittop- Sibaltan, El Nido

    Day 3-12

    After a long few days of travelling we reached our destination for the next 10days.. it took a 14hour flight, sleeping on the airport floor, two hour internal flight and finished off by a very long 7hour mini bus journey to reach Sibaltan but it was worth it!

    The Erlittop hostel was located in a remote part of El Nido right in the jungle and overlooking the sea with amazing views.

    Highlights of our stay so far:

    - Great local food
    - Exploring the local village and culture
    - Relaxing on the beautiful beaches
    - Kayaking to a small island in the middle of the sea, small enough to see the other side!    En savoir plus

    Day trip to central El Nido

    Third time lucky for this trip!! After being rained off the past two days we finally got a day to explore the beauty of El Nido.

    We went on a boat trip out to see the lagoons, beaches and islands. Scenery was incredible, crystal clear waters made it seem as if the bottom of the sea was within touching distance and the greenery of the rock faces surrounding us is something we've never seen before.

    Very glad we hired a kayak in the small lagoon as could pass through a tiny gap in the rock face to enter a hidden lagoon to explore.

    Followed up by snorkelling and a BBQ on the beach :)    En savoir plus

    Puerto Princesa

    Today we made the long 7hour minibus journey back to Puerto Princesa.

    We decided to stay in Puerto Princesa City for a few days before leaving for our next country so we could see how the city differs from the remote areas we've been in.
    The City was smaller than we thought so in the time we were there managed walk and to see it all. From the westernised Shopping Malls to the local villages and people.

    Then time to start our journey to Beijing: first flying to Manila then getting our connecting flight to China!    En savoir plus

    Beijing

    Few days stay in Beijing and managed to see so many amazing things.

    Day 16- Walked for miles around the city exploring then got a tuk-tuk over to the night markets. The entrance hidden in between shops was hard to find but lived up to everything we expected!

    Day 17- Our only full day in the city and we headed to the Great Wall. Took local transport of buses and taxis which was much cheaper way of getting there,.. We went up on an open fronted cable car, hiked for a few hours then headed down on a toboggan! Views were breathtaking and so glad we managed to fit this into our travels!    En savoir plus

    Ho Chi Minh City

    First stop in Vietnam!

    Day 18- Arrived in the evening and the City was really busy, it comes alive at night here!! We dropped our bags off, showered after a long few days of travelling and went for an explore of what's close to where we were staying- we were right in the middle of everything :)

    Day 19- We walked so far today! Got a map from the hostel and headed out for the day. Stopped at a local bakery for croissants and chocolate muffins for breakfast which were amazing! Then carried on to Ben Thanh Markets which were massive and like a maze but sold everything. We carried on to find the War Remnants Museum, something we are glad we saw as learned a lot about the history of the country but have to say it was very hard hitting and emotional.
    Finished off with our first proper date night at a local bar for food and drinks :)    En savoir plus

    Ha Long

    Day 20-24

    Ha Long is lovely yet completely different to how we thought! Very big and a lot more here than we knew...

    Day 20- travelled here from Hanoi airport on a local bus arriving late afternoon

    Day 21- boat trip to Ha Long Bay! Included seeing the floating islands, Thien Cung Caves and a bamboo boat ride..

    Day 22- Early start at 4am to hike up Bai Tho Mountain to watch the sunrise over Ha Long Bay- named 'the rooftop of Ha Long Bay'
