Blocked in today due to high tide, need to wait for a couple hours.

  • Adelaide River & Goat Island - NT

    July 28, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

Stuart & Meghan took us out for the day on their boat along the Adelaide River. We sighted loads of crocodiles on our way to Goat Island. We had a few drinks at the iconic pub on Goat Island which is very remote, you can only visit by boat or helicopter. The owner named Kai, was very entertaining and told us some funny stories. Kai, was made famous when he had hit a crocodile with a fry pan. We are lucky that our friends are locals and took us to places that we would never thought to visit. Another top day in NT.Read more

  • Lake Argyle - East Kimberley WA

    August 15, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Spent the day at Lake Argyle and took a cruise with an excellent tour guide. The lake volume of water is 21 times greater than Sydney Harbour. We saw lots of freshwater crocs, rock wallabies on the cliffs and variety of different fish in the crystal clear waters. The Archer fish was particularly interesting because it squirts a jet of water above the surface to catch its prey. We took a swim in the lake, which was 29 degrees water temperature. We were not bothered by the freshwater crocs that we saw earlier. Lake Argyle sunset was spectacular. Arrived back to our campsite in the dark exhausted. Overall we had an exceptional day.Read more
