    Fabulous Chateau de Chenonceaux

    Our early start to visit the most popular chateau on the Loire was interrupted momentarily by the chain snapping again after riding up a monster hill. But a swift fix by Rosie and her tool box got us on our merry way via the vineyards in no time.

    Chateau de Chenonceaux was built with galleries crossing the river Cher (just off the Loire) which were initially made for hosting parties, displaying artwork and general milling about etc but were also more recently used to secretly move jewish refugees into the safe zone on the opposite bank in the 2nd world war. Who new!
