    Southern Hemisphere Star Photography

    2024年1月30日, South Pacific Ocean ⋅ 🌬 73 °F

Our cruise resident astronomer led many of us to the top deck and turned off the lights for a talk on the Southern Hemisphere stars. We caught several good photos with just our Google phones which have a night star setting.もっと詳しく

    Our Cabin

    2024年1月31日, South Pacific Ocean ⋅ 🌬 73 °F

Our home away from home is very comfortable. Small with lots of storage and we've added magnetic hooks to walls to hang things too. Honestly, there's so much going on we don't spend a lot of time here during the day. The closet lights up when you approach... need that at home! Compared to other cruises, these cabins are extremely quiet! No inside cabins at all. Can't hear anything from next door including loud televisions or talking. About 150 kilometers to New Zealand. Looking forward to getting there!もっと詳しく

There are 150-some islands. Treaty of Waitangi signed here by Britain and the Maori chiefs. Took ferry to Russell, across the bay and enjoyed this beautiful area. Off to Auckland tonight.

Bay of Islands and Russell, New Zealand

    2024年2月1日, ニュージーランド ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

Expectations were high for New Zealand and they have been exceeded. Toured the countryside around The Bay of Islands (far north) then took the ferry across the bay to the idyllic little town of Russell. We're selling it all and moving to Russell! Took an excursion out to the kiwi (the fruit not the bird) capital of New Zealand and learned everything we ever wanted to know about the kiwi industry. I think we have our first albatross sighting!!! These things can have a wing span of over 11 feet, greater than an Andean condor, and live to be 80 years old. They rarely flap their wings, they do something called dynamic soaring, skimming the water and then gliding upward, then back down to the water, graceful.もっと詳しく

旅行者Sydney has so many beautiful parks and open spaces. Our guide said it's becoming more important all the time as very few people can afford a home here ...median 1.122 million dollars Australian. That's two bedrooms one bath. Rentals are about the same ticket shock. Very little supply and soaring demand equals high prices.
