    After offroading a bit I got lost in a forest, the track got rather difficult for a newbie like me. Better safe than stuck, so I turned around and found my way back to the main roads.     My night in the field was not a big success.. I was a bit scared actually and it got so cold... In the morning I felt like a popsicle, so I decided to start driving more South at 5.45 in the morning. When I arrived at the destination it was raining, so I went even more South and was met with more rain. After contemplating a bit I took off cause I just want to be in Italy already..     So I spend the night next to Floki in the back of the car. I was parked at a gas station so didn't feel like popping up the tent.. I slept for a few hours and then I made my way to Italy.

    So I made a lot of kms through Italy and stayed for the night at a campsite. It was cute but went to shit when Floki decided to attack the neighbours dog. I wanted to stay here for a few nights but because of this incident I decided to leave.Read more

    Frustrating day

    With the attack of Floki his leash broke and that was the last one I had. So my day started with finding a new leash. I found a pet store and got a leash, a rope for him to play with and some new food and treats. After scouting a lot for a new place to spend the night and getting nowhere I started to feel frustrated. Also internet was failing so I couldn't search for a new spot... I just started driving untill internet was back on and found a spot for campers to spend the night. So that is where I am staying tonight.Read more

    I found some electricity here at the camper spot which was very nice because my powerbox did not charge on the ride because I plugged it in itself through the extension cord... He didn't like that. And I did some training with Floki today, fixed my shower bag so I can shower tonight (beginning to smell) and I rearranged some things in the car so it makes more sense and I don't get frustrated so easily when cables are everywhere and I can't find what I'm looking for. Also I cleaned out the German dirt from my hauling knob or whatever you call that 😀 It is very nice and quiet here and I am getting some rest now..Read more

    After spending 2 nights at the free camper spot I drove again. This time with a goal in mind. I posted a cry for help on the Overlanding Facebook group and a couple reacted that they have dogs as well that could maybe help Floki a bit to learn how to calm down. They were in a camper spot close to Siena which was only a 2 hour drive away so I decided to give that a go. He met the dogs and it went ok. Floki was still nervous but the couple had faith in him because they could see Floki is a very friendly dog at heart. So I set up camp next to them and I am going to spend a few days here untill food runs out and I need to get some meal prep going.Read more

    I'm hearing noises outside of the tent.. Like something is walking around my car. So I started googeling what animals come out at night here in Italy... Did not want to know that.     Offroad and heaven

    Another dog attack and a lot of anxiety for me. I decided to go for an offroad trail I found not far away heading more South. Best decision I made. It's gorgeous here and I saw one other car on the way. Then I found a spot where I could see a hint of tyre tracks and decided to park there. This is what I was looking for... A whole lot of nature and nothing... Absolutely loving it!Read more

    I finished the offroad trail with some astonishing views of the mountains. Then I took a trip through the Sibillini mountains... Even more astonishing.. It's so pretty driving here with all the views. I'm loving it.

    I traveled a small bit today and got to a camper parking near a gorge.
    It's really pretty here, but there is no electricity and you can only park here for 36 hours maximum.
    So tomorrow I need to find a new spot again. Let's see if there are some nice offroad trails to do in the area.Read more

    Looking for elettricità

    Today I went on a search for electricity. My solar panel doesn't seem to be able to charge the powerbox and when I'm not driving I can't charge it on the car. Bit of a pickle with laptops that need to be charged for work, a phone, a backup phone, a small powerbank and a router for internet.
    So I decided to find a camping. It's a bit busy here and I spotted 3 dogs already which of course makes me nervous with the Flook. But I decided to give it a try cause I really need the electricity.
    We are practically on the beach so we took a dip. Found out that almost everything seems new to Floki and he approaches everything with a lot of caution. Waves, rocks, seaweed, driftwood and so on... It's a bit exhausting. I'm staying here for one night and tomorrow moving on again..    Read more

    Goodmorning from the beach! Today we're heading towards La Grotta di Lourdes.. There should be a camperspace with services (don't know if that means all services or just a few, but we will see) there is a Catholic church inside some sort of cave and there is supposed to be an offroad trail. So if this is all correct it's a win win win.Read more

    Pigs and dogs, caves and water

    I arrived yesterday at grotta di lourdes and the cave doesn't really feel like a cave, more like a small opening in the rock, the offroad trail is not really offroad and the services here are water. So all in all... Not as perfect as I hoped. Next to that there is stray dogs here that come in the afternoon to look for food and stay into the night. And when they leave there are the pigs coming over making a lot of noise. Luckily I have the carabinieri coming by to check on me twice a day 😁Read more

    Boring day

    Today I did absolutely nothing special. We went for a few walks in the forest which is nice cause Floki doesn't get so hot in the forest. Yesterday night a car pulled up and I got my knife ready to go. Nothing happened and this morning he was still there. It was a Frenchman who was surprised that the shadow of the trees didn't stay in one spot... I don't know what he was on, but it must have been something good 😂 The carabinieri came by twice today and in the evening he came by again in his normal clothes to check if everything was still ok. Very sweet that they worry about me..
    Now I'm eating nutella in the tent and starting up work. I hope to see some piggies tonight again 😍    Read more

    The weather was turning a bit and there was no sun which means no electricity... So we had to leave and a colleague suggested Bari, so why the hell not. I found a camper place with electricity poles.. Unfortunately they don't work. They did take my euro though.. 😡
    This seems like a spot where youths will come in the evening but I hope it's going to be a peaceful night.

    Back to the sea

    So that night was not the best. Kids were there until the middle of the night, a lot of cars came, probably some kind of meeting place for whatever there. So this morning I packed up and went further South all the way into the heel of Italy and I found a spot like nothing else.     We've had a lazy day at the beach. Met an Italian guy though who asked if he could come back tonight and he would bring a local dish for me to taste. I said sure! Bring me food please!     We met Alessandro yesterday. He builds insides of vans and campers and I asked him for tips because I'm getting annoyed with constantly moving stuff around so I want to rise the dogbed and create some storage space underneath. He said to come to his shop on Saturday and he will help me build it. So we had another lazy day at the beach today with a beautiful sunset to end the day.. It was lovely..Read more

    Today I had a lovely day. Saw the sunrise and then I went to Alessandro's workspace to create a structure for more loading space. He really did his best to make something nice and it turned out beautiful! I still need to rearrange some stuff to get everything to fit nicely but it's so much better already. After spending most of the day there with the Flook running around freely, we drove back to the Grotta di Lourdes. I needed a place to spend 2 nights a bit closer to Nereto where I booked a Airbnb for 2 weeks and I knew this place is nice with the forest and safe with mister carabinieri coming to check up on me. I arrived here in complete darkness, set up the tent and now I'm ready to sleep. Tomorrow I will dedicate to rearranging my new build.Read more

    Ofcourse my friend Vincenzo the Carabinieri came by to ask why I returned and he even remembered my name. Today I reorganized everything I stuffed in the car yesterday and I'm very happy with this new storage space! Alessandro did a great job on that! While walking in the forest today we spotted 2 snakes! Didn't know there were snakes here... Also I baked some pancakes today, big succes... And did some work.
