Lake Eyre & Uluru

One of the most iconic sites in Australia is Uluru. Lake Eyre is waterless most of the time but springs to life when huge cyclonic driven rain fall in Queensland. That water takes months to flow to the lake. This trip is a rare opportunity. Read more

    We decided to go all the way home. The murals of Alpha, a stop at a couple of places along the way to Emerald where we had our lunch. A giant art sculpture called the Emerald dragon and huge easel in the park. As we drove back along the Capricorn Highway there was first the minion family then around Dingo a huge front of smoke.

    We stopped for a short break and a cuppa at Duaringa. The rest was uneventful. We arrived home just after dark. Although we were going to leave the car parked on the street I finally decided to swing it into the front yard and unhitch. We were home after nearly 3 months on this trip.
