Soča Valley

Another beautiful place on earth! And I think the pictures describe the beauty of this place the most.

After I hiked down from the source back to Bovec (25km) I took the bus up the Vršič Pass and stayed in the mountain hut „Erjavec“.

Vršič is a high mountain pass across the Julian Alps that connects Kranjska Gora with Bovec and it was originally built for military purposes during World War I. The road through the pass is currently known as Ruska cesta (“Russian Road”), renamed in July 2006 to honour the Russian prisoners of war that were forced to build it.Leia mais
