Manaslu Circuit (9) - Helicopter flight

Day 8 - Samagaun
Apparently I couldn’t really enjoy the trek - got sick on day 2, every day other symptoms (headache, high temperature, a constant dry mouth, no appetite and I fainted once). Simone, my danish lovely travel buddy I met in Kathmandu, also felt very bad then in Samagaun. And even after an extra restday we didn’t feel any better. So we decided to end the trek and fly back to Kathmandu (the helicopter is the only way out of the valley). For the next 5 days we would have had to be fit, as we hike up 5.150m over a pass without any reception.
And it was absolutely the right decision - we were both diagnosed with dengue fever.Read more
