Our final day!!! And I met Gabi on my way back - we met on New Year’s Eve 2021/2022 at the „Lizumer Hütte“ and went snowshoeing together for 4 days. No coincidence, we knew we were both in the area but had no reception along the way.

And what a great project has been launched in Namche…#carrymeback. Everyone has the chance to carry back 1kg of recyclable waste from Namche to Lukla.

We celebrated our successful tour with a glass of local wine and a very last round of cambio together with our guide Surya (the cheater 😂).

I would like to thank our porter and guide who made our trek much more enjoyable.
We decided to have porter-help and guide for several reasons:
Guide: For safety - high altitude can be dangerous and cause Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Trails (especially the high passes and glaciers can be blocked, snowy, effected by landslides or avalanches.
Porter: Our bodies are thankful (14 days are long and hard), decreases the risk of AMS, makes the trip more enjoyable (still fu**ing hard), and it supports a mountain community in dire need after two devastating earthquakes and covid.
If we had known, what we know now, we might have done it alone, but we are happy for the safety and company along the way!Baca lagi
